The Retaliator is live!

 For me, finishing a project often brings much more melancholy than joy. While it is exciting to send a fragile creation into the world to be devoured, it represents the ejection from a world I've created and built into what it is--for better or worse--with pieces of me embedded within.

My worlds aren't perfect. I get frustrated, impatient, and many times downright stuck. In order to forge ahead, I have to make tough calls that decide how my story will ultimately end. Offering this frail thing to what I hope are hungry readers is a frightening ordeal. The idea, of course, is that it will all be worth it.

Years ago I wrote my first action novel. It was essentially my play on the bodyguard's tale--the trope of the haunted protector. Orin Wade became someone into which I could mold with all the toughness and Stoic spirit I wish I had. I hope that one day his name is said by others with joy at the remembrance of adventures had with him.
